    Jennifer Child works for the Defense Logistics Agency as a material handler in the Storage and Distribution Division, where she supports the F-16 and A-10 weapon systems, as well as the C-130 cargo plane. Her responsibilities are receiving and in-checking, sorting, fulfilling material requisition orders and delivering parts to the various maintenance shops within her buildings. She is from Las Vegas, Nevada, and her hobbies include camping, four wheeling, crafts and hanging out with friends and family.

    Lt. Col. Jesse Scott assumed command of the 84th Radar Evaluation Squadron from Lt. Col. David Pennington during a virtual change of command ceremony at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, on June 4. Col. Francisco Gallei, commander of the 505th Test & Training Group, Hurlburt Field, Florida, presided over the ceremony via video teleconference due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. The 84 RADES is a subordinate unit of the 505th Command and Control Wing, on Hurlburt Field.

    Lindsay Strickland is an administrative assistance for Occupational Medicine Services in the 75th Medical Group. Her duties include scheduling appointments for seven clinical providers within OMS. She manages the clinic’s data systems, and coordinates and tracks medical evaluations, referrals and profiles. In addition, she is the Ogden Air Logistics Complex’s main point of contact for employee relations, family medical leave, voluntary leave, and other labor issues.

  • Paint shop at Hill AFB gives F-16 ‘spooky’ paint scheme

    Painters at Hill Air Force Base recently completed an elaborate makeover on an F-16 Fighting Falcon by giving it the now-popular “ghost” paint scheme. The 576th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron painted the jet at the request of the 64th Aggressor Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, that participates in training with Air Force and other aviation branches during Red Flag exercises.

    Senior Airman Eduardo Marquez works on the explosive ordnance disposal team in the 775 Civil Engineer Squadron. His main missions at Hill AFB are working the operational range clearance of seven major range complexes, aiding civil authorities in four-state response areas, and supporting the F-35 aircraft with emergency response capabilities. He is from Fresno, California, and his hobbies include reading, working out and training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

  • Energy project powers Hill AFB resiliency

    The Air Force completed construction of a $42 million project recently that will improve energy efficiency and resiliency at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. AFCEC, in collaboration with the Defense Logistics Agency – Energy (DLA-E), awarded the contract to Energy Systems Group, the energy service company, in April 2018, for upgrades to 258 buildings, totaling six million square feet by incorporating seven energy conservation measure upgrades. The addition of the 3.55-megawatt solar array to an existing 250 kilowatt fixed ground mount system increases the annual energy savings by 5.7 million kilowatt hours.
