  • Hundreds gather for Hill Air Force Base’s 80th Anniversary Celebration

    The inaugural event held to commemorate Hill Air Force Base’s 80th anniversary was held at the Hill Aerospace Museum Jan. 18. Hundreds attended throughout the day to admire the museum’s aircraft and exhibits, and to witness the first of a number of celebratory activities that will take place during the year.
  • AFMC standardizes on-boarding, civilian acculturation

    New civilian employees can expect to get on the job faster as a result of a new, standardized Air Force Materiel Command Civilian Acculturation Program. The acculturation program aims to decrease on-boarding time while increasing effectiveness, ultimately setting employees up for success.

  • Hill Air Force Base Tax Center to open Jan. 27

    This year, the Hill Air Force Base Tax Center will open its doors Jan. 27. The Tax Center will be located in building 349, room 101, on B Lane and will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Tax Day, April 15. The center will be closed on federal holidays.

  • Teen daughter of Air Force family writes children’s book

    “Betty Bubblegum was a sassy-sweet, fearless animal lover who spent her weekends riding horses, wearing brave fashion accessories, and adventuring with her friend, a good-natured service dog named Emily,” so starts the recently published children’s book by 13-year-old Brianna Heim. The book is titled Brave Betty & Her Besties.
  • AFMC seeks innovative ideas through Ideascale Campaign

    To support the drive to deliver what the Air Force needs at the speed of relevance, Airmen and civilians from across the Air Force Materiel Command enterprise are invited to submit innovative ideas and solutions to improve the AFMC mission through the U.S Air Force Ideation Platform, or Ideascale, now through September 2020.
  • 576th AMXS leverages robotic paint stripping technology on A-10 Thunderbolt II

    The 576th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is upgrading its traditional manual media blast paint removal process by using new-generation robots to strip the paint from A-10s that come to the base for depot overhaul and maintenance.
  • Air Force Aid Society: Education money available for Hill AFB families

    Concerned about the soaring cost of higher education for your children or spouse? Maybe the Air Force Aid Society can help. Last year, the society awarded over $37,000 to Hill Air Force Base families for education. One application opens the door to three education programs.
  • New hours for Hill AFB's South Gate visitor center, Roy Gate commercial vehicle inspection area

    The visitor center at Hill Air Force Base’s South Gate and the commercial vehicle inspection area at the Roy Gate will have new hours of operation starting Jan. 21.
