  • Managing COVID-19: Ogden ALC's 309th Commodities Maintenance Group continues to thrive

    The 309th Commodities Maintenance Group, part of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill Air Force Base, is not letting up during the COVID-19 pandemic when it comes to supporting the warfighter. The 309th CMXG is the technical repair center for landing gear, wheels, brakes, secondary power systems, hydraulics, pneudraulics, and composites, supporting everything from fifth-generation fighters, the nuclear triad’s B-2 bombers, and 20 and 30 mm guns for military aircraft to just to name a few.
  • First group of Airmen from Hill’s 34th Fighter Squadron return home

    Today, the first wave of Airmen from the active duty 388th and Reserve 419th Fighter Wings returned home following a six-month deployment to the Middle East. The 34th Fighter Squadron’s deployment, which started in November, 2019, was first F-35 Immediate Response Force deployment as well as the second F-35A Lightning II combat deployment. The Airmen supported the United States Air Force Central Command Mission in the region.

  • Childcare providers continue to support Hill families using special guidelines

    Service members are critical to carrying out the Air Force mission, which is why the Child Development Center and School Age Care program at Hill Air Force Base have continued to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic. The CDC and School Age Care program at the Youth Center are providing weekly care for children of personnel deemed missions-essential, which is generally tailored to their work schedules.
  • Minuteman II and the beginning of Hill AFB’s ICBM support

    Much of Hill Air Force Base’s west area became part of the Boeing-operated Air Force Plant 77 in 1960. The aerospace contractor and Hill AFB worked vigorously throughout that year and the next to build the infrastructure needed to assemble and sustain the Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system.
