  • 514th FLTS soars skies over northern Utah

    Utahns have seen the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II and C-130 Hercules aircraft flying around Hill Air Force Base and the Ogden-Salt Lake City area. However, what many people may not realize is a majority of these aircraft are flown by the pilots and aircrew from the 514th Flight Test Squadron at Hill AFB.

    Although Jeremy Smith’s life path took him many directions, his journey eventually landed him where he wanted to be – as a respected computer scientist for the United States Air Force. Smith, who works for the 519th Software Maintenance Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, began his path toward computers early in life while growing up on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Monument Valley, Utah.

    The Air Force Association (Ute-Rocky Mountain Chapter) annually recognizes top performers from the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, 748th Supply Chain Management Group and 75th Air Base Wing at the Maj. Gen. Kevin J. Sullivan Maintenance and Logistics Awards Banquet. This year, 28 military and civilian Airmen were honored during the Nov. 27 banquet held at the Davis Conference Center in Layton.
