  • Hill’s 4th FS/AMU receives first F-35A

    Hundreds cheered the historic arrival of the 4th Fighter Squadron’s and 4th Aircraft Maintenance Unit’s first F-35A as tail number 5133 landed on base Wednesday and taxied into Hotel Row. It was a big event as Staff Sgt. Timothy Ericksen, 4th Aircraft Maintenance Unit dedicated crew chief for Hill’s newest Lightning II, directed Lt. Col. Yosef Morris, 4th Fighter Squadron commander, to the designated parking spot. “It's an absolute honor to brining this aircraft home,” Morris said. “We have hundreds of maintainers, pilots and support personnel who have been working diligently to transit on the 4th AMU and the 4th FS to F-35 operations. I'm incredibly excited to be a part of giving that transition its first tangible asset as we all build the next operation F-35 unit together.”
  • Vaccination health clinics available on Hill AFB

    The U.S. and the rest of the Northern Hemisphere are bracing for a potentially severe flu season. In general, flu season in the U.S. begins in October and tapers off in May. In the Southern Hemisphere, flu season is well under way. Australia has reported seeing two and a half times more infections and considerably more deaths associated with the influenza virus than during the same time period from the previous year.

    Sixteen years ago our nation was altered by three separate attacks that took place on Sept. 11, 2001. For many, it instilled in them a heightened sense of patriotism and was the catalyst for a life of service to follow. As we look back to what happened on that fateful day, we remember the countless innocent lives that were lost, and we celebrate the heroes who sacrificed everything to help a nameless face.
  • Final operational F-16s depart Hill AFB

    The last six operational F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft lifted off from the runway here Sept. 21 at approximately 11 a.m. on their way to Holloman AFB, New Mexico, where they will continue flying.
  • Hispanic heritage observed at Hill AFB

    The annual Hispanic Heritage Awareness luncheon took place Sept. 19, 2017, at the Hubbard Golf Course clubhouse here. The event was hosted by the Hispanic Heritage Committee and sponsored by the Team Hill Special Observance Council (THSOC).

Pawlikowski, AFMC commander, at the 2017 Air Force Association’s Air, Space and Cyber Conference Sept. 18, 2017.
