West Gate closed this weekend

Just after midnight on Saturday, Sept. 17, and continuing through early morning on Monday, Sept. 19, weather permitting, the West Gate will be closed. Crews will be doing slurry seal and street maintenance at 650 North, the road feeding the West Gate.The gate closure will occur at 12:01 a.m., Sept.

Hill’s South Gate Visitor Center extends hours of operation

Starting Dec. 11, the South Gate Visitor Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The visitor center is closed on federal holidays and family days. These new hours will allow the 75th Security Forces Squadron to mitigate delays in processing visitor passes.

South Gate traffic to be impacted by construction

Construction crews will soon be starting a paving project on South Gate Avenue that will affect traffic in and out of the South Gate. The first phase of the project starts April 15 and will run to the end of May.

Concrete islands and barriers will be installed at the South and Roy gates. Lane closure restrictions will be in place Oct. 8 through the end of November, beginning with the South Gate.

Visitor center at Hill’s South Gate scheduled to close for renovations

The base’s South Gate Visitor Control Center will close for approximately four weeks to accommodate renovations to the building. The project is scheduled to occur July 9 through Aug. 10.
