He is from Clearfield, Utah, and his hobbies include cheering for the Jazz, DIY projects and spending time with family.

  • Childcare providers continue to support Hill families using special guidelines

    Service members are critical to carrying out the Air Force mission, which is why the Child Development Center and School Age Care program at Hill Air Force Base have continued to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic. The CDC and School Age Care program at the Youth Center are providing weekly care for children of personnel deemed missions-essential, which is generally tailored to their work schedules.
  • Minuteman II and the beginning of Hill AFB’s ICBM support

    Much of Hill Air Force Base’s west area became part of the Boeing-operated Air Force Plant 77 in 1960. The aerospace contractor and Hill AFB worked vigorously throughout that year and the next to build the infrastructure needed to assemble and sustain the Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) system.

    Cecilia "Ceci" Otto works for AAFES as the Starbucks manager. She is involved in every aspect of the operation from ordering products, receiving deliveries, paying invoices, scheduling associates, counting monthly inventory and daily cleaning and sanitizing of the facility. Ceci is from Taytay Rizal, Philippines, and her hobbies include cooking for family and friends.
  • Hill AFB beginning to reopen some facilities and services

    Beginning Monday, May 4, Hill Air Force Base will begin reopening some of its facilities and services consistent with state and local guidelines.
  • 514th FLTS starts ‘taxi service’ to support aircraft deliveries for the warfighter

    Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the 514th Flight Test Squadron started a “taxi service” initiative to help keep aircraft inductions and deliveries from warfighting units, to and from the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, on-track.
  • SECAF tours Hill missions to view operational capabilities during pandemic

    Secretary of the Air Force Barbara M. Barrett visited Hill Air Force Base April 30 in order to get a firsthand look at critical mission activities here and how the base was operating under current restrictions due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Team Hill Frontlines: Tad Christiansen

    Arvil "Tad" Christiansen works in the 309th Commodities Maintenance Group as an aircraft parts repairer work lead. He currently works in the landing gear division working on C-5 Galaxy landing gear. He trains new employees on work loading and prioritization in the shop. Tad hails from Syracuse, Utah, and his hobbies include hunting and camping.
  • A-10 continues operations after engineers assess battlefield repair

    An A-10 Warthog damaged in a deployed location was quickly returned to service after a remote engineering assessment while disbursed in response to COVID-19.  After a mission, maintenance crews needed to repair battle damage on an A-10 consisting of a bullet hole in the underbelly skin with an unknown exit point for the projectile.
