HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah –1st Lt. Robert Snarr, 75th Air Base Wing commander’s executive officer, was born and raised in Idaho and has been an Air Force member for the past 13 years.

Snarr is a formerly enlisted Air Force Defender who progressed to the rank of Technical Sergeant.

He checked ID cards at the gate and ran the base visitor center, but said his most important job was being a first-line supervisor where he mentored Airmen and encouraged them to pursue education.

“I encourage every enlisted member to finish school and continue to grow because I would have never been able to commission if I didn’t have my mentor, then Maj. Sarah Brill, push me and teach me to never forget my roots,” Snarr said.

While at Hill AFB, as a member of the Force Support Squadron, Snarr served as the Military Personnel Flight commander and the Community Services Flight commander.

Snarr said his current position serving as executive officer for Col. Jenise Carroll, 75th ABW commander, has been the single most educational experience of his career and is something he will carry forward.

“Working for a wing commander who is leading through some of the toughest times, such as the COVID-19 challenges, extremism, and the racial disparity reports that were released by the Department of Justice has been eye-opening to say the least,” he said.

The creation of the Women’s Initiative Team, under the direction of Col. Carroll, is something that Snarr said is inspiring an immediate, needed change.

In his free time, Snarr plays all types of sports but especially enjoys hockey and golf.

In reference to his current position where Snarr said he has learned so much, he ardently offers a word of advice.

“If anyone has the opportunity to be an XO…TAKE IT,” he said.
