  • Utah students benefit from computers for learning

    A recent effort to put computers in front of Utah students started when DLA Disposition Services Director Mike Cannon sent out an email to his workforce. After reading Cannon’s email, Property Disposal Specialist Jared Grimshaw at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, learned his team would soon receive more than 40,000 computers.

  • Civilian Developmental Education offers opportunities to learn, grow

    The Air Force Civilian Developmental Education program is a portfolio of courses and training designed to address the developmental needs of the civilian workforce at all levels. Programs help civilians to achieve short or long term goals at a level appropriate to their needs and desired path of future growth. These include opportunities for civilians to attain associate through advanced college degrees in Air Force institutions and spots in military professional education programs. Applications for Academic Year 2020 open on March 1.
  • Scholarship for Military Children entry deadline Feb. 15

    Students should be finishing up their preparations to apply for one of the 500 available $2,000 Fisher House Foundation Scholarships for Military Children, as the deadline is approaching. Applications are being accepted through Feb. 15. Last year, five students at Hill Air Force Base were among hundreds from military families across the Department of Defense to receive a $2,000 college scholarship.
  • Hill museum announces January ‘Plane Talk’ speakers

    Each week, the Hill Aerospace Museum hosts a ‘Plane Talk’ event featuring lecturers who speak on the heritage of Hill Air Force Base, the U.S. Air Force, other military branches, and many other subjects related aerospace and the defense industry. Plane Talk is held at 1 p.m. Saturdays in the museum’s auditorium. Admission is free.
  • Nuclear weapons interns graduate into permanent jobs

    Several civilian interns recently graduated from their training with the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. Under the Air Force Civilian Intern Program, 24 interns were recognized for successfully completing a two- or three-year program of on-the-job training, professional and personal development, and service opportunities for the center’s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Systems Directorate.

  • DAU opens new classrooms at Hill

    To meet an increasing student demand, the Defense Acquisition University has opened a new facility in Falcon Hill National Aerospace Research Park, part of an ongoing Enhanced Use Lease program located on the base’s west side.
  • Hill showcases STEM job opportunities

    Future Air Force scientists and engineers visited Hill recently during a Science & Engineering Palace Acquire Operational Training Assignment, which involved a base tour and briefings on Hill’s science and engineering workplaces Sept. 17-22.
  • Career Vectoring program accepting applications

    The window of opportunity has arrived to take advantage of Career Vectoring, a workforce development program. Individuals in GS-12, GS-13 and equivalent logistics positions are encouraged to apply.
