    Hill celebrates Energy Awareness Month

    October is Energy Awareness Month where we recommit to strengthening our energy security and responsibly using our energy resources so that we can continue on our path towards energy independence and dominance. The theme “Protect the Power” is a call to action for all members of the Air Force community to practice smarter, more efficient energy and water consumption, to enhance readiness and resilience.

    388th Airmen help Hill Aerospace Museum host historic SR-71 visit

    The Hill Aerospace Museum, with the help of volunteers from the 388th Fighter Wing, hosted 18 former Airmen who served in the SR-71 program. The group of pilots, reconnaissance systems officers, and maintainers held a panel discussion, and conducted cockpit tours.   • Concrete islands and barriers will be installed at the South and Roy Gates beginning Oct. 8 through the end of November. During construction at the South Gate, two inbound lanes of traffic will be opened. When construction shifts to the Roy Gate, there will be just one inbound lane of traffic opened at all times.     Concrete islands and barriers will be installed at the South and Roy gates. Lane closure restrictions will be in place Oct. 8 through the end of November, beginning with the South Gate.

    Museum features ‘Plane Talk’ lecture series in October

    The Hill Aerospace Museum will host a “Plane Talk” speaker series Saturdays at 1 p.m. in the museum auditorium. Each week, guest speakers feature topics related to the heritage of Hill AFB, the U.S. Air Force, other military branches, and many other subjects related aerospace and the defense industry. The speaker series is open to the public and admission is free.
