Construction on South Gate Avenue will begin Feb. 11 and continue through March 12, creating temporary closures that will affect vehicle traffic, connecting roads, pedestrian routes and parking near Bldgs. 100, 225 and 237. The work will occur in two phases and will require detours and intermittent access changes throughout the project area.

The North Phase runs Feb. 11-24 and fully closes South Gate Avenue from Wardleigh Road to the midpoint on the west side of Bldg. 225. The South Phase runs Feb. 26-March 12 and fully closes the section from that midpoint to Bldg. 237. Detour signs will be posted within one block of the closure areas, and motorists should expect delays as construction vehicles move in and out of the work zone. Access to nearby roads may be limited at times.

Pedestrian routes will also be affected. Access will remain available using the elevated walkway along the east side of Bldg. 100, and crosswalks leading to the northwest annex and west middle entries of Bldg. 225, as well as the west south entry, will stay open. Pedestrian access will remain available throughout each phase, though specific paths may shift as work progresses.

Parking on the east side of Bldg. 100 will be restricted during each phase. North side parking will also close during the North Phase, and south side parking will close during the South Phase. The area west of Bldg. 237 will also be affected during the South Phase.

Users with special access needs or deliveries may coordinate directly with the contractor (West Coast JV), who will accommodate requests to the greatest extent possible. The 75th Civil Engineer Group has provided affected organizations with contractor contact information.
