Help for base pass delays

HILL AIR FORCE BASE – The South Gate Visitor Center and Roy Gate Commercial Vehicle Search Area are currently experiencing significant latency issues, causing delays in providing visitor passes through the Defense Biometric Identification System.

In some cases, visitors are waiting longer than 15 minutes.

The long wait times have been reported to Defense Manpower Data Center officials who said other installations are also experiencing delays.

The DMDC continues to troubleshoot and analyze for a root cause but are not able to estimate when there will be a fix.

Until the situation is resolved, the 75th Security Forces Squadron Visitor Control Center is providing single-day, 24-hour passes through their secondary Air Force Justice Information System, which takes approximately 5 minutes to process.

If a 30-day pass is essential, the VCC suggest visiting them during the off-peak hours of 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-4 p.m. when the system tends to work slightly better but can still take 15-20 minutes depending on system status.

If the date of a guest’s visit is known in advance, members can submit information through the VCC SharePoint accessible through the Self-Help desktop icon. This should be done no more than five days in advance.

The Hill VCC is open weekdays from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Peak Hours are 7-10 a.m.
