HILL AIR FORCE BASE – Giving Tuesday is a charitable response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, that began more than 10 years ago. Today, it’s the world’s biggest giving day of the year, with pledges that help charities fulfill their missions to better our communities, nations, and world.

For the thousands of CFC charities, this is the most important time of the year. They rely on generous donations made on Giving Tuesday, in some cases, funds the entire upcoming years’ worth of services provided to beneficiaries.

Your gifts make it possible for them to budget and determine the scope of their upcoming and ongoing programs.

Nearly $52,000 has been pledged to the CFC at Hill. The base’s goal is $162,000 and even a small donation can go a long way to supporting the CFC’s many worthy causes.

Giving Tuesday week also marks the beginning of the holiday giving season. Here at the CFC, we invite all federal employees to consider those in need as it gets colder, and lonelier, for many near and far.

To bring additional awareness to the campaign and encourage participation, the CFC Committee invites you and your families to a series of free movie events at the Hill AFB Theater located at 5338 Loncki St., building 441.

Dec. 2 @ 5:30 p.m. – Spies in Disguise (PG)

Dec. 16 @ 5:30 p.m. – Aladdin (live action) (PG)

Jan. 6 @ 5-30 p.m. – Onward (PG)

The CFC website provides all the information so donors can make an informed decision on where to contribute from local regional charities, up through national and international causes, that are vetted by U.S. Office of Personnel Management for inclusion on the list.

Your contribution can also be split between more than one cause. Whether online or in the CFC Giving app, you can contribute through payroll deduction, credit or debit cards, e-check, bank transfer and can even pledge volunteer hours. Paper donations slips are also available from your unit’s CFC rep.

Think about the positive impact your gift will have. Let’s make this worldwide movement the biggest giving day of the campaign.
