Hill celebrates Police Week

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Former President John F. Kennedy declared Peace Officers’ Memorial Day in May, 1962. The recognition has evolved into National Police Week, a time to pay special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Hill’s 75th Security Forces Squadron celebrates and commemorates National Police Week May 23 through 26 with several base events that are open to the public.

Opening ceremonies, followed by a Police Expo are at 3 p.m. May 23 at Centennial Park. For more information, email Technical Sgt. Christine Rivers at christine.rivers@us.af.mil.

Two events are sponsored May 24. The 5K Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. at the Hill AFB Track. Participants should be in place no later than 7:50 a.m. Sign up for this event at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904054aabae28a4fa7-police.
