“I’m very proud and honored to have been selected as this year’s Air Force recipient of the Stars and Stripes BEYA Award,” said Col. Jenise Carroll, 75th Air Base Wing commander. “Minorities remain underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math jobs, and BEYA is making a solid effort to promote STEM and recognize those who have made strong contributions in STEM fields.”
The Black Engineer of the Year Awards in science, technology, engineering, and math recognize leaders who are developing innovation. The BEYA STEM Conference’s awards continue to provide leading employers with the opportunity to share the achievements of minorities in STEM. This year’s nominees were voted on by the BEYA selection committee members from hundreds of eligible entries.
The awards ceremony is part of a three-day conference that also includes a career fair for Air Force recruiting, multiple panels, corporate seminars and a Stars and Stripes youth mentoring session.
