HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Hill AFB’s South Gate Visitor Control Center will undergo renovations and move temporarily from the current South Gate location to building 1299 located near the West Gate.
All customer service functions will be provided at the West Gate VCC for approximately one month beginning March 14.
Renovations to the South Gate VCC are necessary to enhance security.
Security forces personnel are currently working to make the transition to the West Gate location as seamless as possible for their customers.
Master Sgt. Anthony Quinn, 75th Security Forces plans and programs superintendent, said limited parking at building 1299 is a concern so 75th Civil Engineer Squadron is creating an additional gravel parking area located adjacent to the existing visitor center parking lot.
“We ask for your patience during this upgrade, especially since the West Gate VCC has very limited customer waiting and parking space,” he said. “Accordingly, the 30-minute parking rule will be strictly enforced. Vehicles left unattended in the parking lot for over 30 minutes will be ticketed and possibly towed.”
The West Gate VCC will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. 7 days a week. On federal holidays during family down days, the normally assigned VCC personnel will be off duty but on-duty security forces personnel will be available to write passes.
If on-duty security forces personnel are responding to police and security related incidents, there will be a delay in writing passes.
The following gate hours will still apply during the construction period.
West Gate - open 24 hours.
South Gate - open 24 hours.
Roy Gate - open 4 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday except federal holidays.
Roy Gate VCC - open 6 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday except federal holidays.
