HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- This afternoon, the president signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, establishing June 19 as a federal holiday. As the 19th falls on a Saturday, most federal employees will observe the holiday tomorrow, June 18.

Execution guidance from the Office of Personnel Management, Defense Civilian Personnel Advisory Service and Headquarters Air Force (HAF) is forthcoming.

Employees should not report to work tomorrow unless notified by their supervisors. If mission requires civilians to report, civilians will receive holiday premium pay for working on a holiday. Employees unsure of their reporting status should check with their immediate supervisor.

In addition, timecards should not be changed until further guidance is received from Defense Finance Account Service and HAF.
