Mrs. Ruby Price

Mrs. Ruby Price, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, visited Hill Air Force Base today, where she met with Col. Ron Jolly. 75th Air Base Wing and installation commander. Mrs. Price shared stories from her past. I love Hill Air Force Base....I feel like Hill Field is my home. If I could live up here I would, she said. Mrs. Price, a native Texan, was an instructor at Hill Air Force Base during World War II and a member of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. Traveling by train from Texas, she joined the war effort after her brother, her hero was killed in combat. Since then, she's called Utah her home, serving the base and the surrounding community as a teacher and on several state and local advisory boards for diversity and education. Col. Jolly honored the Texan in Mrs. Price with yellow roses and told her he was grateful for her service. It was an honor to meet someone who is such an icon, not only for Hill Air Force Base, but also for the community and state. (U.S. Air Force photo by Todd Cromar)
