Provo's First Air Show
During the April 1911 Air Meet in Salt Lake City, community leaders in Provo decided they should make an effort to have an aerial exhibition while the aviators were nearby. It was announced in the Provo Herald on April 11th that J. E. Rickards, Publicity Agent of the Curtiss Aeroplane Company, had reached an agreement with Provo officials. Promoters F. Ghmond and Dore Schwab of Provo had contracted Charles Willard to fly Saturday and Sunday, the 15th and 16th of April, at the County Fairgrounds race track south of the depot.
