Lt. Gen. Lee K. Levy II, Air Force Sustainment Center Commander, served as the presiding official over a change of command ceremony for the 635th Supply Chain Operations Wing (SCOW) last month.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 19 at the Scott Events Center at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Linda Hurry relinquished command of the 635th SCOW to Col. David Sanford.

General Hurry's next assignment will be as the Director, Expeditionary Support Directorate at the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

In that role, she will be responsible for delivering worldwide expeditionary installation and mission support (I&MS) capabilities to customers at the headquarters, major command and installation levels.

The directorate supports the oversight and resourcing of enterprise-wide I&MS readiness, as well as training and equipment, while also providing operational level planning and support to the warfighter through the execution of Functional Area Manager duties for all I&MS capabilities and the management of operational readiness requirements on over 900 core unit type codes.

She will be replacing Maj. Gen. Bradley Spacy, who is moving up to become the center's commander.

General Hurry served as the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center deputy commander for maintenance prior to her current assignment. Since then, she's served as commander of the 635th Supply Chain Operations Wing at Scott AFB, one of eight wings in AFSC. As commander of the 635th SCOW, she was responsible for leading and directing operations for two supply chain groups, the Air Force's Petroleum, Vehicle and War Reserve Material Global Management offices, and 11 direct operating locations comprised of more than 1,200 logistics professionals.

Colonel Sanford formerly served as Chief of the Distribution Division, United States Central Command, at MacDill AFB, Florida. In that position, Colonel Sanford was responsible for planning, integrating, coordinating, and executing strategic and tactical level surface, ground, and air distribution of supplies and equipment across the United States Central Command area of responsibility. Furthermore, he was responsible for developing long-range plans to support national security objectives and military strategy.
