Ruby Price, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, visited Hill Air Force Base Dec. 17, where she met with Col. Ron Jolly. 75th Air Base Wing commander. Price shared stories from her past. "I love Hill Air Force Base....I feel like Hill Field is my home. If I could live up here I would," she said. Price, a native Texan, was an instructor at Hill AFB during World War II and a member of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. Traveling by train from Texas, she joined the war effort after her brother, her "hero" was killed in combat. Since then, she's called Utah her home, serving the base and the surrounding community as a teacher and on several state and local advisory boards for diversity and education.
