In response to a recent surge in speeding violations across the installation, the 75th Security Forces Squadron launched "Operation New Sheriff" here on Aug. 13, targeting traffic infractions to reinforce installation safety.

During the concentrated enforcement surge, defenders monitored six designated locations over a three-hour period. While the primary objective focused on curbing excessive speed, Security Forces initiated traffic stops for all observed traffic violations.

“The targeted operation serves as a direct reminder to motorists to slow down and adhere to posted traffic regulations,” said Tech. Sgt. Caroline Cruikshank, 75th Security Forces Squadron.

Squadron officials emphasized that observing speed limits remains one of the simplest and most cost-effective measures drivers can take to ensure public safety.

The enforcement drive comes at a critical time, with local schools set to resume classes in a week. The start of the school year will bring a significant increase in pedestrian foot traffic both on and off base, including children walking to bus stops and school zones.

Security Forces leadership urges all drivers—military, civilian, and contractor personnel—to be vigilant, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and strictly observe traffic laws to ensure the safety of the entire base community.
