HILL AFB, Utah -- About 2,000 community members recently attended a Hill Air Force Base hiring event at the Davis Conference Center. Job seekers were able to meet with representatives from several base organizations such as the 75th Air Base Wing, Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and the 309th Software Maintenance Wing, among others.
Angela Fowers, civilian personnel officer, said volunteers from across the base worked hard to accommodate the large number of attendees, “collaborating and contributing to the event’s orchestrated success.”
“Any event where we can find and recruit new talent to fill mission-critical positions on the installation is a success,” she said.
Offers of employment were extended to multiple individuals at the event. More than 200 interviews were conducted onsite and resumes of highly-skilled applicants not immediately offered positions will be used to select workers for upcoming vacancies.
“We expect the number of jobs filled as a direct result of this event to continually rise as we reach back into that pool of resumes that were collected to fill our vacancies,” Fowers said.
Hill AFB offers a variety of career paths and a wide range of employment opportunities. Among those showcased at the event included skilled trade, cyber, and logistics. Attendees were educated on the application process, resume writing tips, and how to search for future job openings at Hill.
While this job fair is only held once a year, the base recruits new employees throughout the year at other events.
