HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The Fuels Management Flight's building, originally constructed in the 1950s, recently underwent a comprehensive renovation to address decades of minimal upgrades.
The $2.9 million project included gutting the building down to its studs, eradicating asbestos, and overhauling the bathrooms, kitchen, HVAC system, fire suppression system, doors, and windows. The renovation also upgraded the communication systems.
Despite the building’s essential 24/7 mission support role, operations continued without interruption during the 10-month construction period, which ended in January 2025.
Master Sgt. Dakota Ferris explained that the flight’s personnel were temporarily relocated to building 900, and coordination with Bioenvironmental, the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, and the 151st Air National Guard Fuels Laboratory helped ensure no mission stoppages.
The Fuels Management Flight ensures quality petroleum products, cryogenic fluids and missile propellants are acquired and issued.
