DLR making move to DLA Published Feb. 7, 2008 By Tech. Sgt. Jason Smith 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Forty three Hill AFB Depot Level Reparable employees are scheduled to become Defense Logistics Agency employees May 11 in accordance with a Base Realignment and Closure Commission 2005 initiative. Currently, the employees are part of the 84th Combat Sustainment Wing, and transferring them to DLA will help create a single, integrated depot-level reparable procurement management provider. Ross Marshall, 84 CSW director, addressed the affected employees at a recent town hall meeting. Mr. Marshall said the employees' current commitments of keeping the people and mission the priority while maintaining continuing support of the warfighters' readiness won't change under DLA. Just like the 231 Ogden Air Logistics Center Supply, Storage and Distribution employees who are scheduled to transfer to DLA April 13, the DLR employees will have some options including accepting and transferring to DLA; retiring if eligible; accepting a different Air Force position; or separating. "The Joint Services Transition Team has worked hard over the last two years to ensure that what needs done to be successful has been done," said Pam Day, 84 CSW Chief of Contracting. "This should be a seamless transition for the customer; (the) Global Logistics Support Center." Ms. Day said transferring employees should be able to continue working without having to inprocess again or worry about issues like personnel papers and direct deposits.
