Three paving projects to temporarily close base roads Published June 12, 2009 HILL AIR FORCE BASE, UT -- The 75th Civil Engineer Squadron will pave three roads necessitating full road closures due to the narrow width of the roads involved. Temporary crosswalks through the areas to match existing crosswalks will be constructed as safety allows. Schedules are all approximate and as weather permits. >> Among the roads to be affected are New Jersey Road and Warrior Way (Second Street to Perimeter Road) requiring the excavation and repair of asphalt. On Monday, June 15, the project begins and runs through June 29 and will close New Jersey Road and Warrior Way (2nd Street to Perimeter Road). The project will not include the intersections of New Jersey Road and 2nd Street or Warrior Way and Perimeter Road. The recommended alternate route is Browning Street to Quincy Lane to Perimeter Road for through traffic. Most buildings can be accessed from North Drive via Perimeter Road. >> Another project will close "D" Avenue (Balmer Street to Wardleigh Road) requiring excavation and repair of an old drain at the intersection of Weiner Street and "D" Avenue, concrete, asphalt, pop-up barricades and some sidewalks and curbs. The Phase 1 effort of this project will begin Monday, June 15 and run through June 29. "D" Avenue (Balmer Street to 6th Street) will close. Phase 1 will not include the intersections of "D" Avenue and Balmer Street and 6th Street. The recommended travel route is 6th Street to Southgate Avenue for through traffic.
