TLC now Team Pedometer Challenge Published April 8, 2011 CHPS office HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The Team Lean Challenge program received a facelift all across the Air Force Materiel Command this month. The Team Pedometer Challenge (TPC) and focuses on taking the necessary steps for permanent healthy lifestyle changes. It begins April 11 and ends May 20. "The TPC is a program that doesn't focus solely on weight loss, but being more active, and this was our goal," said Antoinette Greene, Health Promotion coordinator for the AFMC Surgeon General's office. One way to begin is with the Health Risk Appraisal tool at the Wellness Support Center website, www.afmcwellness.com. The TPC begins with a simple (annual) assessment of each participant's overall health. The site also serves as the enrollment portal for the Team Pedometer Challenge, as well as where you record your steps. The intent is to foster the AFMC Wingman concept by encouraging participants to work together to achieve their goals. Each team will consist of two members. Once enrolled, participants should visit the Health and Wellness Center at the Warrior Fitness Center (Building 533) to pick up a free pedometer. The pedometers are on a first come first- served basis while supplies last. Each member must log their steps at www.afmcwellness.com, attend three educational classes each, and participate in one of the fun runs/walks. Check out the Calendar of Events on the AFMC Wellness Website for a listing of classes and fun runs! The top three base winning teams will be determined by the numbers of steps taken, whether both participants attended three classes (a total of six classes per team), and if each member participated in a fun run/walk provided by Hill AFB.
