309th AMXG FOD Quality Circle highlights topic with contest Published April 8, 2011 FOD Quality Circle HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The Aircraft Maintenance Group's FOD Quality Circle held a Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Poster Contest at the end of 2010. The contest was spearheaded by Robin Lung who stated, "The purpose of the contest was to keep the focus of all maintenance employees on the importance of being aware of FOD." The FOD Quality circle is committed to creating a FOD free working environment for all of the weapon systems, through education and awareness on the importance of the jobs being done. "We want the pilots to return home to their loved ones safely after each mission, just as we return home to our families each night. With this contest, the goal was to keep employees focused on what is important in order to accomplish this desire," said Lung. Three employees were given time off awards for winning the contest, as well as a framed copy of their winning entries in the FOD Poster Contest. The first place winner was Scott Kendall of the 573rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadon who received a nine-hour time-off award. The second place winner was Jason Carrion of the AMXG/CCF who received a seven-hour time-off award. The third place winner was Kevin South of the 572nd AMXS who received a four-hour time-off award. Lung went on to say, "Thank you to all of the employees who took the time to participate in this contest. For all those who didn't win, we are planning to have more contests so keep a look out for future contest announcements and remember: You are the ones who make the difference."
