Hill Air Force Base announced the news in December 2011 that the Open House and Air Show would return to the base in May of 2012.An open house and air show featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds is planned at the base for May 26-27.

The two-day event, which is free and open to the public, will include aerial demonstrations and displays to provide the public a personal look at the Air Force and its Airmen.

"Open houses and air shows serve as premier platforms that enable us to showcase the Air Force mission and the extraordinary things our Airmen do every day," said Col. Sarah Zabel, 75th Air Base Wing commander. "This is significant to our recruiting efforts, but also essential to educating the American public on the training and capabilities of their Air Force."

"It's also a way of saying thank you to the Utah community for generously supporting Hill Air Force Base," Zabel added.

Additional details about the event will be released when they become available.
