Airmen from the 2nd Combat Camera Squadron volunteered to clean up the duck pond running trailĀ here April 22 as part of an Earth Day activity.

The 15-person team collected 10 bags of trash and multiple large items such as a golf club, a couple of boxes and an old sled.

"I wanted to do something for Earth Day that would benefit not only the Earth, but also Hill Air Force Base," said Airman 1st Class Tiffany DeNault, 2nd Combat Camera Squadron combat photojournalist and organizer of this project. "We run the duck pond trail for our physical training sessions a lot and I thought it would be a great idea to clean up."

International observations of Earth Day usually include planting trees, picking up roadside trash and conducting various programs for recycling and conservation throughout local communities.

"The Air Force values and respects the natural resources placed in our trust; this is where we live, train and work," said Lt. Col. Allen Herritage, commander of the 2nd Combat Camera Squadron. "Additionally, as a tenant unit, we appreciate the superb relationship we have with our base partners and look for opportunities to show it."
