Large crowds gathered Wednesday June 26 to enjoy the seventh annual Ogden ALC Car Show. The event was held at Centennial Park and featured a variety of cars from 1929 to the present and featured great music, Visa gift card drawings, and a delicious barbecue by Holy Smoke BBQ.

"We had 102 entries this year, that's up 15 perent than the previous year, we had over 1500 people," said Julie Lehr, Protocol Lead for the Ogden Air Logistics Complex and organizer of the event.

Before the parade began of the winning vehicles from the various categories Commander Maj. Gen. Brent H. Baker Sr. conducted a short commander's call, addressing the current high temperatures throughout the state and urged those out in the heat to stay safe.

"This is my first full summer in Utah and I am really enjoying this amazing state we have here. Don't take for granted what a great state this is to live in and work, but these are the 101 critical days of summer. Go out and enjoy yourselves but please be safe because we rely on you to come back healthy," said Baker.

He continued by thanking all those of the Air Logistics Complex for their hard work and for all who helped make the car show possible.

The parade of champions featured winners from 22 different categories ranging from best paint, best all original, and most unique to generals choice.

Lehr said that the vehicles were judged based on the first impression or the "wow factor" of the vehicle which included the paint, and looking for a clean and sharp look. Also the stance -- the vehicle looks good while stopped. The wheels needed to be clean, with good tires with a good fit for the vehicle image. Interior, was judged on if the elements were clean and finished. The engine compartment, was also looked at to see if it was clean and neat.
