HILL AFB, Utah – Meet Jeremy Zaugg, an electronics mechanic with the 309th Electronic Maintenance Group at Hill Air Force Base. Although Jeremy has only been with the Ogden Air Logistics Complex one year, his story stretches beyond the confines of his job working on advanced drones. He has a career marked with significant twists and turns along with a deep passion for filmmaking.

Jeremy is responsible for maintaining some of the most sophisticated drones in the Air Force's arsenal, including the Predator and Reaper models. His role involves handling repairs and ensuring these unmanned aerial vehicles are in top working condition.

Although Jeremy has an interesting job with EMXG, his career path has been anything but conventional. Before coming to work for the OO-ALC, he served a combined twelve years in the Marine Corps and the Army, with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He considers his greatest achievement his completion of the Marine Corps’ basic training. His service in the Army was particularly notable for his role in Military Intelligence, where he acquired training in the Arabic and French languages.

After completing his military service, Jeremy decided to explore a new passion. Using his GI Bill benefits, he pursued a degree in film, which led him to an independent film career. “I’ve always loved movies,” he explains. “2001: A Space Odyssey was a huge inspiration for me from a young age.”

Zaugg’s film career took him to Hollywood, where he had roles in major productions such as “Ford vs Ferrari” and “First Man.” His experience in independent filmmaking allowed him to take on various roles including stunt driving and directing. His work can be found on his Internet Movie Database (IMDb) page and through his own YouTube channel, which features clips from his projects.

Currently residing in Provo with his family, Jeremy commutes an hour and a half one way to and from Hill Air Force Base. Despite the long drive, he remains dedicated and punctual.

“My family motivates me to get up every morning,” he said. “I want to provide for them and be a good example.”

Zaugg’s personal life reflects his professional versatility. He and his wife of 24 years have three children, and he describes his relationship with them as exceptionally positive. His children are ages 17, 15, and 9, are enthusiastic and supportive, with Jeremy actively involved in their lives and education.

Jeremy Zaugg’s story is one of remarkable adaptability and passion. From the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan to the high-tech world of drone maintenance and Hollywood sets, his journey exemplifies the power of pursuing diverse interests and finding success in multiple arenas.
