Hill Air Force Base – In honor of National Vietnam War Veterans Day, the Hill Main Exchange will present Vietnam veterans with a complimentary lapel pin from 10 a.m.-noon March 29 at the Exchange.

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service partnered with The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration to provide free commemorative lapel pins to Veterans who served on active duty any time from Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location.

“On the back of the pins, closest to the wearer’s heart, is our message to our Vietnam veterans: ‘A Grateful Nation Thanks and Honors You,’” said Hill Main Exchange Store Manager Eleanor Veloria. “The Exchange is honored to offer this small but heartfelt token of gratitude to these heroes, recognizing them for their service, valor and sacrifice.”

All Veterans with service-connected disabilities are now eligible to shop at the Hill Main Exchange for life, as are retirees, active-duty and military dependents.

All honorably discharged Veterans can shop the Exchange online at ShopMyExchange.com.

Veterans can visit https://aafes.media/paveterans to learn more about their hard-earned Exchange benefit.

Veterans who typically do not have base access should take a valid photo ID, preferably a driver's license, and their DD Form 214 to the South Gate Visitor Control Center anytime from 9-11:30 am on the day of the event.

A dedicated service window will be open to veterans, where the clerk will run a quick background check, issue a day pass and offer directions to the Exchange event.
