First sergeants and the Commissary at Hill Air Force Base have once again teamed up to spread Thanksgiving cheer to those who may need a little extra help this year.

The Commissary and first sergeants worked closely together through Operation Warm Heart, a non-profit organization created to raise money and provide relief for Airmen and Guardians, and their families throughout the year.

Commissary customers donated food items, while commissary staff packaged the donations. The First Sergeants Council, funded by Operation Warm Heart, purchased turkeys and distributed the Thanksgiving packages.

Master Sgt. Whitney Barton, 388th Operations Group first sergeant, said this collective effort had a profound impact, reaching 154 families across Hill Air Force Base.

"The Team Hill First Sergeants Council, the Base Commissary, and Operation Warm Heart demonstrated the true spirit of giving and that, even in challenging times, the bonds of camaraderie can make a significant difference in the lives of military families," said Barton. "This Thanksgiving, the Team Hill community came together to ensure that no one felt alone or without a warm meal, embodying the principles of service that define the military experience.”
