HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The Army & Air Force Exchange Service, the Department of Defense’s largest retailer, is working overtime to ensure its customers have access to quality, tax-free merchandise at competitive prices.
Edward D. James, Hill Main Exchange Store Manager, said he knows customers have options when it comes to shopping, but thinks there is no better choice than The Exchange.
“We offer great customer service, competitive prices, and high quality programs geared towards military families,” James said. “We try our hardest to make sure the shopping experience is the best possible.”
James said prices are not only competitive, but The Exchange’s price match program ensures customers are getting the best prices possible. The Exchange retail stores will match a local competitor's current price on any identical stock assortment item for the customer who makes a price challenge. Details about the price match program can be found at https://www.aafes.com/exchange-stores/price-match/.
Great prices and an additional savings by not paying sales tax on purchases aren’t the only reasons to choose The Exchange. Perhaps the biggest reason for Hill shoppers is that a percentage of the profits are given back to the base to be used for morale, welfare and recreation programs. James said an average of $500,000 is given to the base annually in support of the gyms, bowling center, library and other MWR offerings.
Another way of giving back to the community is through the “The "You Made the Grade" program, which is designed to reward students for above-average academic achievement and to inspire them to work that much harder.
“Recognizing the student's academic accomplishments offers the Exchange an opportunity to make a contribution to the military community quality of life,” James said.
Students who present a valid military ID card and proof of an overall "B" or better average at the Hill Main Exchange will receive a $5 Exchange gift card and be entered into a sweepstakes drawing for a chance to win a $2,000, $1,500 or $500 Exchange gift card.
“There really is no reason for qualified customers not to shop at The Exchange,” James said. “They’re getting the best deals while also giving back to the installation.”
“In addition, The Exchange offerings covers a broad portfolio, including retail, food, and services. Collaborating with many branded entities at home and overseas, bringing a bit of home to our service men and women abroad.”
Currently, active duty service members, members of the Guard and Reserves, military retirees, family members and Veterans with service-connected disabilities are eligible to shop at AAFES locations, either online or on-base. Honorably discharged Veterans are eligible for online shopping.
