HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- The Company Grade Officer Council Leadership Symposium is scheduled for Nov. 21-22 at Hill Air Force Base and CGOs interested in attending can register now.

This seminar in its third year will offer junior officers on base an opportunity for professional development, networking, fellowship and broad leadership discussion. This year’s symposium theme is “Making Your Vision a Reality."

First Lt. Erin Malloy, 416th Supply Chain Management Squadron and one of this year’s event organizers, said the annual gathering is an opportunity for junior officers to share time and ideas with their peers, as well as with senior enlisted members and senior officers.

She said last year’s symposium was a huge success and she anticipates the same results this year.

“Feedback from last year included high interest in both the senior NCO panel and smaller, breakout sessions,” Malloy said. “We decided to bring both those concepts back for this year’s symposium by incorporating several panels consisting of subject matter experts into the breakout sessions.”

In addition to the panels and leadership discussions, the symposium will offer opportunities for junior officers to socialize and network.

Malloy said that at a large base like Hill AFB, CGOs can often feel isolated from their peers.

“This leadership symposium will allow CGOs from across the base to meet and connect with new faces,” Malloy said. “We will be hosting a crud tournament at The Landing at the end of the first day of the symposium to provide a more relaxed environment.”

A luncheon is also scheduled at the conclusion of the seminar at Smokey’s BBQ & Grill in Ogden.

The symposium will run from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 21 and 8:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 22 at The Landing.
