• Nuclear weapons center again recognized for excellence

    The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center recently received the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award for the sixth time since the center stood up in 2006. The center’s AFOEA awards now span nine consecutive years, from 2009 to 2017.

  • Air Force plans prescribed burn on Utah Test and Training Range

    The Air Force plans a prescribed burn Oct. 8-11 on the Utah Test and Training Range’s North Range, which is located north of Interstate 80 between Wendover and Tooele. Travelers on I-80, near Exit 62, may notice fire and smoke during that burn period.

  • 729th ACS enhance readiness with Raging Bull Exercise

    During the month of September, the 729th Air Control Squadron participated in Raging Bull, the unit’s largest exercise of the year. Airmen from the squadron convoyed from Hill Air Force Base to historic Wendover Airfield located in Utah’s western desert.

  • HAFB welcomes new firefighting equipment

    This summer, Hill Air Force Base's Fire and Emergency Services acquired new equipment including a 100-foot ladder truck to replace the department’s 16-year-old truck, a new heavy-brush truck to respond to wildfires and a vehicle equipped with highly-specialized rescue tools.
