Trusted Care brought order to chaos after Hurricane Maria
Members of the 375th Medical Groups and a U.S. Transportation Command manpower team, part of a U.S. Air Force En Route Patient Staging System team, transport a patient during Hurricane Maria relief efforts to a waiting aircraft after arriving at Henry E. Rohlsen Airport, near Christiansted in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands on Sept. 23, 2017. On the first day, patients were carried nearly a quarter mile from the staging location to awaiting aircraft. Following Trusted Care huddles, where process improvements were discussed, teams obtained rickshaws to provide more efficient transport and reduce the risk of injury to patients and staff.
