Hundreds of Airmen and civilians celebrated the U.S. Air Force’s 69th birthday during the 2016 Air Force Ball held Sept. 17 at the Davis Convention Center in Layton.

The annual ball’s theme was “A Celebration of Warriors, Innovators & Leaders” and events included traditional military and civilian ceremonies, dinner, video presentations, and a ceremonial cake cutting.

During the event, Kearston Cutrubus was named the 2016 “Community Wingman” for her efforts in taking care of Team Hill Airmen. She is an Honorary Commander with the 388th Fighter Wing and serves as President of the 388th Fighter Wing Falcons. For more than 19 years she has partnered with the Top of Utah Military Affairs to generously craft and donate approximately 1,500 gift baskets to various organizations on Hill Air Force Base for the quarterly and annual award banquets.
