Editor's Note: The “Team Hill Frontlines" series is a recurring feature that puts the spotlight on some of the civilian and military Airmen on the "frontlines" supporting our mission, people and families during the COVID-19 crisis.

Capt. Gabe Lawson is a chaplain for the 388th Fighter Wing. He provides pastoral care ministry and counseling to Airmen and families and support spiritual and moral resilience of our Airmen, and leads the Protestant chapel worship service at the Base Chapel on a weekly basis. He is from Lexington, Kentucky, and his hobbies include spending time with his wife and three kids, watching sports (especially Atlanta Braves baseball), exercising, watching movies and shows and reading all kinds of literature.

Gabe’s experience working on the COVID-19 frontlines:

"Since engagement to Airmen has been limited, I published a series of 13 “Chaplain’s Corner” videos on the Hill Chapel Facebook Page where myself and two other base chaplains offer a resilience message. Also, our chapel services had to be suspended for in-person attendance, so I moved our service online.  I record, edit, and publish our full worship service on YouTube weekly. In addition, I’ve been involved in dozens of virtual and in-person counseling and virtual marriage care briefs.  I have also had the privilege of supporting the return of around 200 troops from the 34th Fighter Squadron from overseas combat deployment, as well as supporting a large deployment of troops for a combat deployment.  I am continuing to engage the units in person, just with a black mask and more distance.”

Gabe, Team Hill thanks you for your service! We appreciate you!
