11980s: Hill's role as the LSPM

The Hill Engineering and Test Facility received several upgrades and additions during the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. During 1989, the Peacekeeper ICBM portion of the facility became operational. This photograph depicts the installation of an inert Peacekeeper ICBM as it was lowered into its silo at the facility.
