Final respects
(March 28, 2007, Logan, Utah), Veterans from VFW Post1695, the VFW Post 8307 and active duty military members attending Lt. Colonel Chase J. Nielsen memorial service pay their final respects to one of Utah’s most famous WWII veteran and hero. Lt. Col Nielsen was one of the last remaining members of the famed “Doolittle Raiders”. The members of the “Doolittle Raiders” reached national acclaim in 1942 after launching the first successful aerial bombing raid on Tokyo, Japan in retaliation for the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in December of 1941.
