Three years ago the youth bowling program was crowned the best in Northern Utah. In a recent tournament the youth program repeated this victory by bringing the trophy back to Hill Air Force Base.

Twelve bowlers from the Hill Youth Bowling Program proved they had the "right stuff" when they represented the base in a one-day bowling tournament Jan. 25. The tournament is an annual friendly get together of several of the bowling centers in Northern Utah -- Davis, Sparetime, Ben Lomond and Hill. Each of the centers send their twelve best youth bowlers, ranging in age from 8 to 21 years old, to compete in three different brackets to win the title of Northern Utah's Best.

The Hill Youth Bowling Program participants are:

James Jarvis, Emilee Nab, Dirk Valle, Sean Miner, Alessa Bell, Jena Jasmon, Adrianna Ybarro, Raymond Ybarro, Trevor Hansen, Cody Maglio, Kendal Wixom and Cameron Henning.

The youth program teaches young bowlers the basic skills needed to become good bowlers and fosters the ideas of good sportsmanship.

If you are interested in joining in on the fun on Saturday mornings, contact the bowling center at 777-6565 or show up on Saturdays at 9 a.m. The youth bowling program begins at 9:30 a.m. bowling at 9:30 a.m.

The youth program is affiliated with the United States Bowling Congress and therefore requires a membership through USBC. Come by and join the fun.
