A 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle received the Director's Trophy for 'best of show' honors when the 309th Maintenance Wing held its annual Car Show and commander's call June 30.

The black Softtail Deluxe motorcycle, owned by Mike Dotson, also won first place in the motorcycle category.

The show was held in Centennial Park under warm, sunny skies and drew more than 2,000 onlookers. Activities included prize drawings, a catered barbecue lunch and a pre-holiday safety briefing.

Sue Dryden, 309th MXW director, gave her final commander's call, lauding the crowd for their achievements in the past year and highlighting efforts of the Voluntary Protection Program, Junior Force Council and the Wingman Advocacy Program.

This was the largest 309th MXW car show in its five-year history, with 89 vehicles entered. Entries included a red, white and blue 1969 Volkswagen beetle with a Subaru engine and a black 1951 Kaiser, as well as six Chevy trucks, five Camaros, five Harleys, four SClBMustangs and a 1972 Plymouth Duster.
