Release time for flu shots

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah --  The 75th Medical Group, Civilian Health Promotion Services and Davis Health and Human Services have partnered to offer flu vaccinations and cholesterol/blood pressure screenings this year. An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the chances that you will get seasonal flu and spread it to others.

Hill civilian employees receiving the vaccination will need to provide their health insurance card and pay any deductible/co-pay. Many insurers waive the deductible/co-pay for such vaccinations. Flu vaccinations and cholesterol/blood pressure screenings will be offered at the following dates, times and locations:

· Oct. 29, 9 a.m. to noon: Bldg. 1209, Large Conference Room, (flu vaccinations and blood pressure screenings)

· Oct. 30, 9 a.m. to noon, Warrior Gym (flu vaccinations and BP screenings)

·  Oct. 31, 8 a.m. to noon, Bldg. 507, Roessler Conference Room

· Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to noon: Bldg. 1209, Large Conference Room (flu vaccinations and BP screenings)

· Nov. 5, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Bldg. 100, Ray Close Conference Room (flu vaccinations and cholesterol/BP screenings)

·  Nov. 6, 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Bldg. 100, Ray Close Conference Room (flu vaccinations and BP screenings)

· Nov. 13, 9 a.m. to noon: Bldg. 1234, Main Conference Room (flu vaccinations and BP screenings)

· Nov. 14, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Warrior Gym - Expo (flu vaccinations)

· Nov. 20, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Bldg. 1515, Executive Conference Room (flu vaccinations and cholesterol/BP screenings)

Civilian employees wishing to receive the flu vaccination should use wellness time, lunch periods and break periods to the maximum extent possible.

If time is insufficient or unavailable, employees may be released pursuant to Title 5 authority for up to 1 hour without charge to leave, at the discretion of the supervisor as time and mission requirements permit.
 
Individual time keeping systems may require the release time to be documented as wellness time or an excused absence. Employees should visit an above clinic closest to worksite and will be provided with confirmation of getting the vaccination.

Active duty members may get their vaccination at the 75th Medical Group, Bldg. 570, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. or on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
