Ceremony, music honor veterans with great pride Published Nov. 14, 2013 By Mary Lou Gorny Hill Top Times Editor BRIGHAM CITY, Utah -- In a crowded gathering, Nov. 10, in the historic Brigham City Tabernacle, Col. Ronald Jolley Sr., deputy commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, thanked veterans and their families for their sacrifices in the service of their country. In a ceremony marked with song, bagpipe and Taps, the colonel also participated in a presentation of medals and recognition. "We are thankful for all of you veterans who have paved the way for our numerous mission successes today," he said. "Your contributions have made us a better, stronger and smarter military. More importantly, your service has ensured the freedom and security of the United States of America. "Your contributions may be sometimes understated but the results of your service are far reaching and absolutely can never be overstated," he added. "We continue to this day to patiently, professionally find, destroy and dismantle those that wish to bring harm to Americans at home and abroad," said Jolley. The colonel paused to remember the fallen who gave their all, and then recalled his oath of service, and the pride he feels when the flag is displayed. Jolley said he serves with pride and also to provide an example to his children. "Our veterans bear scars, both visible and invisible, and they have without question, without hesitation answered our nation's call."
