Commentary: AFSC CC sends Thanksgiving message Published Nov. 26, 2013 By Lt. Gen. Bruce A. Litchfield Air Force Sustainment Center Commander TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- As we approach Thanksgiving and the start of the Holiday season, it's easy to look back upon this past year with a little bit of pessimism. We have endured a great deal of chaos, but the fact that we have weathered the storm and regained our balance is a tribute to your spirit and professionalism. I have been inspired by the way folks have focused on what they can control to make the absolute best out of what's come our way. Like many of you, I'm thankful for my family, my country and my ability to support both. Defending our Nation ensures the basic principles which make America great will endure and passed along; generation after generation. We are leaving a legacy that will stand the test of time. I am thankful for all 33,000 Air Force Sustainment Center teammates. Together we are part of something unique in the defense industry and each of you has an extremely important part to play in the defense of our nation. Your hard work and perseverance have helped shape the Center into what we are today, and what we will become tomorrow. Each year we achieve the unachievable, adapting to our changing environment and expanding our horizons. So, thank you for all you do, every day, to make AFSC the leader in sustaining weapon system readiness. My wish is that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving while taking time to enjoy family and friends, relax and refresh. If you are a combat Black Friday shopper, good luck and be safe! We need you back at 100%. Keep 'em flying...it's what we do! Bruce BRUCE A. LITCHFIELD Lieutenant General, USAF Commander, AFSC
