Families with Special Needs Summit set for March 20 Published March 18, 2014 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah -- Military families with special needs children face the daunting task of daycare, health care providers, insurance, and much more. Thankfully, a one-stop shop for those families was created. The 4th annual Families with Special Needs Summit will be held at 10 a.m. March 20 at The Landing. The summit is open to all military, retirees, Guard, Reserves, Team Hill civilians and their family members. The summit will offer information on a variety of topics including recreation, early intervention, special education, mental health, medical needs and benefits, assistive equipment until 2 p.m. This information fair will be followed by a Tricare and United Healthcare question and answer session. Tammy Custer, Exceptional Family Member Program Family Support Specialist, said nearly 100 service agencies from on and off base will be represented at this year's event. "The event brings so many resources all in one place; it takes a lot of time to research them all," Custer said.
