Beginning Sept. 6, the base movie theater will show a free, sensory-friendly movie at noon the first Saturday of every month.

A sensory-friendly movie is a special opportunity for individuals living with autism, sensory issues or developmental delays to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment.

The Sept. 6 movie will be Finding Nemo.

In order to provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for these individuals, the movie auditorium will remain slightly lighted and the sound turned slightly down.

Additionally, audience members are welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing.

The event is intended to be a great opportunity for families to meet children with disabilities and their siblings in a climate of acceptance and understanding.

There will be prize drawings and light snacks for this kick-off event.
