Good questions for your good health

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah --  If you occasionally find medical information confusing, you're not alone. Many people can use help with health information.

Studies have shown that people who understand health instructions make fewer mistakes when they take their medicine, prepare for a medical procedure, or manage a health condition.

As such, your health care provider invites you to ask questions regarding your health. Asking questions will help you understand your health and put you in a better position to successfully manage your health conditions.

Ask Me 3® is a patient education program designed to improve communication between patients and health care providers, encourage patients to become active members of their health care team, and promote improved health outcomes.

The program encourages patients to ask their health care providers three questions:
  1. What is my main problem?
  2. What do I need to do?
  3. Why is it important for me to do this?
You can ask questions when:
  • You see your doctor, nurse, pharmacist, or other health care provider.
  • You prepare for a medical test or procedure.
  • You get your medicine.
Remember, you are an active member of your care team and the 75th Medical Group asks that you remain actively involved in your health care by asking questions.
